This combined role mixes education consulting, where you mentor students through foreign university applications, with business development, where you help grow the company's student client base. No prior consultancy experience is required because training is provided.

Education Consultants mentor and guide students on personal statements and essays. They do not write essays on behalf of students.

Eligibility and Minimum Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • UNILAG Year-3 students only and must still have at least two academic years remaining when the contract starts.
  • Minimum CGPA: 3.0 / 5.0 (University of Lagos scale).
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and good organisational skills.
  • No prior consultancy experience required. Training is provided.

Key Responsibilities

Education consulting duties

  • Guide and mentor students through the application process for universities abroad.
  • Provide step-by-step guidance for personal statements and application essays (mentoring only).
  • Assist applicants in completing online application forms and uploading documents.
  • Track application deadlines and maintain progress records.
  • Monitor admission correspondence and advise students on follow-ups.

Business development duties

  • Promote the company's services to prospective students within UNILAG and in external networks.
  • Support outreach campaigns and liaise with student groups or class reps where appropriate.
  • Identify potential clients and help convert prospects into applicants.

General duties

  • Attend weekly on-campus and/or online meetings and required training sessions.
  • Keep accurate and confidential records of student applications and communications.
  • Represent the company professionally in all student interactions.

Compensation and Breaks

  • Standard pay: N80,000 per calendar month for the standard 20-hour working week. Paid monthly, subject to statutory deductions.
  • Exam breaks: During official exam break periods, the employee will receive N30,000 only for the exam break period. This replaces the usual N80,000 for those exam weeks.
  • If an employee is required to work during an exam break and does work, they will receive N30,000 exam break pay plus a pro-rated portion of the N80,000 for actual hours worked during the exam break, based on the 20-hour work week.
  • Regular semester breaks, such as long vacations between semesters, are paid as usual at N80,000 per month for 20 hours per week. This is different from exam breaks.
  • The company provides a work laptop. Internet access is provided only when working physically at the office.
  • Salary is subject to statutory deductions, including PAYE and pension where applicable.

Contract Duration and Renewal

  • Contracts run for the semester from the start date until one day before the next semester resumes, or as otherwise agreed.
  • Contracts are fixed-term and may be renewed based on performance and organisational need.
